Philadelphia~! (Prelude)

Okay. Here it is, my trip to the East Coast
I had a very rough week. By rough, I do mean ROUGH. A bit of bad luck on my side. Here's a summary of what happened.
1. My paper got rejected. I failed miserably in writing my research paper. I got a 71 on my attempt. It was a major headache. Plus I think I did bad on my finals. Not good either. Ruined my chances of getting an A. Just when I thought it was over, I had to re-do my paper after my finals. Panic attack. I barely slept the night before so it kinda ruined my mood especially for the trip. Bothered Naza and Lee about it, luckily they're cool with it.
2. Paycheck didn't get through. :( payroll got it messed up. Desperate for money :(
3. As expected, connecting flights is a very BAD idea. I spent 2 hours on the landing strip like a sitting duck. The plane didn't take off due to bad weather in Philly. It didn't bother me that much except for the fact that I'll be arriving late in the evening and its gonna be dark.
4. My bag didn't arrive at my final destination. UGLY.
5. And other stuff not worth mentioning.

On the good side:
1. My 2nd attempt on the paper was great. And I didn't fail miserably on the test too.
I got an A~! but Dr. H wanted an electronic copy which I left on my flash drive in Golden.
2. Paycheck got through~!
3. Bag arrived!
4. Other things got better :)

Sneak peek of what's coming up on the next post. I'm too tired to think of what to write. Had a long winding day today, yet it was fun. I guess till tomorrow it is~!

26 September 2008/26 Ramadhan 1429H at 7.10 pm

Self reminder to myself on this date. I can's study. Well here's a note just to keep my mind intact why I'm here in the first place.

Ibu Mithali Award Recipient An Exemplary Mother

KUCHING, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Ibu Mithali award recipient Rakayah@Ayot Rajak, 82, who died of old age on Friday, was described by one of her 16 children as an exemplary mother for raising all her children to be successful in their chosen vocations despite being uneducated.

Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Deputy Director of Health (Dental) Dr Ahmad Abang said today his late mother would be an inspiration to many for her tireless sacrifices to put him and his siblings through university as well as for her active involvement in social work, including at the Women's Institute.

"She was a good mother who managed to put all of us through university by taking up sewing and doing other chores to supplement the family income. She was also very kind and generous, and will not hesitate to invite anyone who had come to our house for a meal although we were not from a well-to-do family," he told Bernama here today.

Dr Ahmad, 54, the sixth child, said Rakayah, who was survived by eight sons and eight daughters as well as 58 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, received the Ibu Mithali award in February 1991 from the then Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Bainun Mohd Ali in appreciation of her contribution.

Six of Rakayah's children are either medical doctors or dentists, including Dr Ahmad and her eldest son, Dr Abas Abang, who is one of Kuching's pioneer and most prominent Malay general practitioners.

One of her daughters, Professor Dr Fatimah Abang, is currently the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

However, this year's Hari Raya celebration will be a sad one for Dr Ahmad and his extended family as their "pillar of strength" will not be around to partake in the joy and thanksgiving of the festivity.

Rokayah was laid to rest at the Semariang Muslim cemetery here on Saturday beside the grave of her husband.

Photos

As much as I want to add photos and stuff. I love too. But I'm such an organized human being. I upload all my pics on my hd and just let it rot on whatever folder that is there. This is so unlike me. Well once I get things sorted out over spring break probably I should do so. I can't even keep my room organized. It takes me an hour to clean it up, and less than 5 mins to mess it up all over again. I need a maid~!

I NEED TO KEEP IT RUNNING~!

Yeah, I've been putting this project on hold for quite sometime. I kept on procrastinating on my post that i didn't post anything at all. From the looks of it, I've been having sleepless nights over my weekends. Might as well I crap all night long on this page, update all my photo travels since day one, etc. Add more links with my relatives who blogs. Or whatever it is, just kill time till graduation~! I guess its about another 63 more barrels per week til I hit peak~ I need a co-writer to entertain me. I wonder who'll that be....

A bunch of stuffs happened throughout my week, I got a grand from the SPE Denver chapter. Gotta say its the best birthday present ever. Never felt so rich before with a check worth a grand. I got two part time jobs going on with this semester. Plus the pay is good. Bayya sent a bunch of glow in the dark sheep for my room decor. Now I can count sheep to sleep~!
